About
Drawing from integrative, evidence-based approaches—including CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, The Gottman Method, and Imago Relationship Therapy—JoAn tailors each session to support her clients’ unique goals, whether they are seeking healthier coping strategies, stronger relationships, or a deeper connection to themselves.
JoAn views therapy as a collaborative process that honors each client’s lived experience, allowing them to explore their emotions freely, rewrite limiting narratives, and work toward meaningful change. JoAn strives to create a warm, culturally responsive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered.
JoAn specializes in working with teens and young adults navigating academic, social, and relational pressures, individuals facing anxiety, depression, life transitions, and identity-related challenges, as well as couples seeking deeper connection, improved communication, and intimacy. She also offers premarital counseling to help couples build a strong foundation for marriage.
With a particular focus on first-generation and BIPOC individuals, couples, and families, she brings a culturally affirming lens to her work. As a first-generation Korean American, she deeply understands the complexities of balancing cultural and family expectations with personal goals and societal pressures, and she is committed to providing thoughtful, inclusive care for clients from all backgrounds.
JoAn provides therapy services for MFTS. She is a clinical intern, pursuing her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Touro University Worldwide, working towards her licensure under the supervision of Danielle Taylor, LMFT.
