About
Natalie focuses on those struggling with both trauma, finding meaning in their lives, as well as in interpersonal relationships. She has a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the College of William and Mary, with a specialty in Military and Veterans Counseling. Natalie is also trained as an Imago Relational therapist, and uses an eclectic approach to counseling.
She works with couples and individuals in areas related to attachment, trauma, sex, identity, personality disorders, anxiety, depression, and neurodiversity. Natalie is currently taking graduate courses in transpersonal psychology and philosophy. Thus, she is especially interested in working with people on matters of meaning, existence, and spirituality.
In addition to her counseling work, Natalie has a PhD in Planning, Policy, and Design from the University of California, Irvine and Masters degrees in both International Development as well as Public Health from Tulane University. She has extensive professional experience as a Professor at multiple universities on both the graduate and undergraduate levels, as well as in Joint Professional Military Education. She is an expert in crises and social order, as well as the veteran experience of trauma with over 20 peer-reviewed publications in these areas. Natalie has also worked with homeless youth and adults, and in substance abuse and HIV/AIDS harm reduction efforts.
Natalie holds a License as a Resident in Counseling in Virginia and is under the supervision of Danielle Taylor LMFT.
